4 things that’s worked well in my business in 2023

1. *putting up our prices*. I gave clients a heads up and some options (commit ahead to lock in prices before increase, pay in instalments) and I offer a lower price point on all my group coaching programmes, to enable accessibility. Yes, we probably didn’t win some biz as we’re now at the very top end of some sector’s budgets. We’ve now set a new level of comfort with our pricing (time to stretch again right?!) 2. *working less, dancing more*. I’m not working less hours, but I’m not pushing through the energy lows as I used to, and I’m not ‘always on’. I’ve been working on my practices and rhythms for years and now there’s grooves baby! I’m off social media every weekend, I take time out in the week for walks on the fells, yoga class, therapy, walk n talk with friends, I work at cafes, I collaborate with brilliant women, if I’m in cities I walk across them when I can, I listen to podcasts, I watch great TV series and this year I’ve rediscovered my love of dancing and it’s ability to shift, release and heal. Shout out to Caroline Kelf aka ravewithdjflourish Cat Blyth for gorgeous dancing moments this year

3. *connection*: early in the year I realised I needed to keep being alongside other women in business, as well as thinkers and activists who’d elevate my thinking and help me to grow. I made the trips, I reached out for spontaneous lunches if i was passing, I joined new groups, I sought out new communities and teachers. There are deeper foundations of friendship, solidarity and collaboration. There’s new roots and shoots for 2024. Shout out Karen Webber, Karen Staniland Platt, Tamu Thomas, Bernice Henson, Samantha Patel, Laila Datoo, my continuity community at Found and Flourish, and my biz besties, you know who you are.

4. *working only on projects I care about*. Every work project was a full body ‘yes’ this year and it’s a total game changer. Changemakers as the umbrella with allyship, identity, intersectionality, senior team engagement, systemic change, using our privilege, how global issues are interconnected with local issues, the kind of leadership we need right now, collective care, solidarity and healing. Speaking, convening, designing, hosting, facilitating, coaching, mentoring, reimagining…. it’s such a joy to be of service in this way. Shouting out my brilliant clients who inspire me to know better and do better every day.
