Let me tell you a story about JOY
When our kids were small my partner and I started going on walking days to celebrate our birthdays. We’d take a day off, book them into childcare and enjoy a new fell together. No stopping for snacks every 10 metres, no ‘are we nearly there yet?!’. We’d walk alone, walk together, chat, connect. Bliss. We’d come home feeling topped up and energised.
It took us a few years to realise that we really really loved these days … and that we could decide to DO IT MORE. We didn’t have to rationalise these joy-filled energising experiences to our birthdays. Duh. Now we have a walking day every month and it sustains our relationship.
