COACHING WITH KATY

I love to see you shine!

Katy Murray

I get that you juggle multiple priorities, your time is squeezed and you want significant impact! So I invest my passion, energy and best resources to support you to grow and expand. I’m up close and personal with you in your business, leadership and life. I cheer-lead you, equip you and challenge you. I’ve provided this kind of accountability and support to 100s of women leaders across multiple different roles and sectors, over 20+ years, and my clients experience incredible results.

I say ‘yes’ to working with women who are intentional about:

  • investing in your own development, growth and wellbeing

  • exploring patterns that are holding you back

  • becoming more aware about the bias, barriers and systems you operate in as a woman leader

  • increasing your voice, visibility and using your privilege

  • learning to thrive not just survive in your context

  • being or becoming a role model, change maker, disruptor and culture shaper

  • center-ing your wellbeing and experiencing more joy while you do it!

Got Questions?

  • Coaching is a 1-1 relationship built on trust and openness. We focus on your agenda, your learning and your process. It’s a powerful way for you to accelerate your learning, growth and personal/ professional development.

I’m a coach because I LOVE being alongside awesome leaders and supporting your expansion and impact!

  • You can book a connection call with me at a time that suits you (click here). I’ll send you a few questions to answer ahead of our call. On the call I’ll ask you about your needs, and what’s leading you to explore coaching at this time. I’ll share the various ways we can work together. If I think I’m not the right person to add value for you, I’ll say! This is a no-pressure conversation to get to know each other better, and see if we’d like to work together, you’re under no obligation.

  • There are various coaching packages you can choose to suit your budget and timeframe. We schedule the coaching sessions to mutually suit our diaries. We meet for our coaching sessions online via Zoom, face to face, or a combination.

  • We check in, we agree the outcomes you want to achieve for this particular session. I ask lots of question and I listen deeply. I may play back themes I’m noticing, I may share a power practice, tool or approach if I think that would be useful for you (although it’s not a teaching session). We give time at the end for synthesising your learning, a-has and gems from the session, insights and next steps, and then we check out.

  • Coaching 1-1 is an opportunity to have me in your corner, on your agenda. The agenda is yours and we agree the outcomes that you want to work towards. You bring the topics that are most important to you. That may be a career transition, a desire for more balance and wellbeing in your life, wanting to avoid burnout, seeking a promotion. My job is to resource you to step even more into the life you want to create, making the contribution you want to be making.

Themes that often come up in my coaching work are: how do I stay passionate and not lose hope, how do I sustain this level of work and not burnout, how do I maintain this professional level which I enjoy, while not frying myself or my family, how do I navigate his tricky workplace, I’ve got a new leadership challenge, I want to change direction, I’m leading change and I need support along the way, I’m getting more visible.

  • Results and outcomes are unique and different for each client. We set your outcomes at the beginning of our coaching journey together and it’s my job to support you to achieve them.

Your success will be determined by you, and I will match your pace and energy. Some clients want a nurturing space for a regular check in, some use coaching to help establish regular healthy patterns and habits, some want to achieve big goals with the regular accountability and practical support I can offer. Some want to explore bigger life and career questions in a safe and non judgemental space.

  • Expect compassionate challenge!

We explore your intra personal life – your beliefs, values, thoughts and feelings to the extent that they drive your behaviours. We explore the behaviours you want more of and the behaviours you want less of. It’s not a cosy chat, I am warm and kind, but I don’t collude.

  • I have a deep and wide toolkit developed through my coaching and consulting practice over many years and 1000s of hours. I work creatively and intuitively in tune with your needs and preferences. This means we may use body, breath, power practices, visualization, guided reflection, journaling prompts, mapping and planning tools, visual and creative strategies.

I’ve collated and curated many of these approaches in my book ‘Change Makers a woman’s guide to stepping up without burning out’.

Anti racism, equity and inclusion and wellbeing are themes embedded in all my work.

  • I’m trained in NLP (neuro linguistic programming) to master practitioner level.

I have a Masters degree in individual and organisational development, with specialisms in gender and inclusion, and an undergraduate degree in social and political sciences (sociology/ psychology/ anthropology/ politics).

I’ve studied compassion based and embodied approaches, as well as positive psychology,

I am trauma aware and trained with The Adaway Group around equity and whiteness (my learning here is ongoing).

  • I work with ambitious, talented, passionate, purpose-driven leaders and change makers in social impact and business – mostly women (although all genders and gender expressions are welcome).

“I worked with Katy during my transition into senior management. We talked through aspirations, challenges and used creative tools to help me identify my management style. Through my work with Katy I was able to step up into senior management, and take on big challenges while still being myself. Katy’s coaching approach was full of insight. We had fun, we got serious, we connected. Katy’s empathy, ideas and advice were invaluable. I would happily recommend Katy to anyone looking for a one-one coach who can listen, challenge and inspire.”

— NATALIE LARTEY - CAMPAIGNER, LOBBYIST, TRAINER

“Katy’s helped me understand myself better, and to see that though some people don’t understand my out-of-the-box thinking, it’s still valuable!

She’s helped me connect with my inner passion to speak out for the sake of those who need to hear what I have to say, and to realise that my passion to help them is in fact stronger than my fear of censure from others.

She’s given me tools to help when I struggle with imposter syndrome, and ways to maintain a growth mindset when things haven’t gone so well.

It’s definitely been worth the financial investment, as each session has been so rich in content. Coaching with Katy’s brought about positive changes in my life that I never would’ve managed without her insight and encouragement.”

- FRANCESCA C - DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

“Working with Katy has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my career so far, and I’m so thankful for this. From the start I knew that Katy was going to be my biggest cheerleader, but also challenge my thinking in a way that someone never had. She is such a naturally skilled coach, and she just knew what to do to help me capitalise on my strengths and my passions. Her friendly manner meant it was easy for me to open up to her, but her sharp perceptiveness is what kept me on track. She has provided me with all the guidance, stretch, tactics and exposure that’s allowing me to feel connected and confident in a role that I love.”
