My Mood Dipped : What are your Autumn Self Care Basics?

I noticed my mood dipping this week

Darker, shorter days

Political turmoil, uncertainty

affecting my overall sense of wellbeing.

I wallowed for a bit, feeling tender, listening to too many news-based podcasts.

Inner critic loud and comparisonitis in full flare.

Then *a decision* to find my agency again.

A choice to let go of what I can't control, take action on what I can influence, and focus on what's in my gift to feel better.

A choice to dial UP my self care. To focus on JOY.

More on joy next week, here's the self care basics I scheduled:

·       daily walk for fresh air and heart rate up

·       cuppa and catch up with a friend who goes deep

·       talking therapy for next week

·       Thursday evening yoga class for full body stretch out

If I don't intentionally book this stuff into my life (aka my diary) it doesn't happen. I already feel better with these pieces in place. Yes it's a privilege that I can access and pay for therapy/ exercise classes etc.

I'm not suggesting these things make the tough stuff go away.

It's not denial, fake positivity, gas lighting or numbing.

By tending to my body-heart-soul I know I'm more able to navigate the tricky stuff.

By showing up for myself, I'm better able to show up for my family, my friends, my clients.

What about YOU?

🍃What can you schedule into your life, that'll help sustain your wellbeing?
